Co-founder and first VP of the United Farm Workers, Dolores Huerta is the most prominent Chicana labor leader in the United States. For more than 30 years she has dedicated her life to the struggle for justice, dignity, and a decent standard of living for one of the United States' most exploited groups: the men, women, and children who toil in the fields and orchards picking the vegetables and fruits that stock grocery stores. Huerta is a much-admired role model for Mexican American women.
