Lapel Microphone

A clip-on microphone with a 3.5' cord and 3.5mm plug to fit most recording devices.

XtremeMac MicroMemo

The MicroMemo allows you to capture audio using the flexible, detachable mic—or another type of microphone with a 3.5mm-plug to an attached iPod. MicroMemo also records directly from a computer or soundboard via line-in capabilities.

It displays Menus and controls display on iPod screen while attached and recording. It has a built-in speaker for instant playback, records 16-bit audio at 44 kHz and 8-bit at 22 kHz.

Plantronics DSP-400 Headset

This is a foldable stereo headset for audio recording and playback with clip-on volume and mute control. Connect to a computer via USB port.

Media Editing Stations

There are six media editing stations in the Multimedia Center. Each station features a Mac Pro computer with dual monitors, a VCR, a video monitor, and an analog/digital media converter.

In addition, one station is equipped with a DV/mini DV deck, one with a digital keyboard, and one with a Firewire 800 hard drive dock. Software is available for audio editing (Audacity, Amadeus Pro, Logic Express & Logic Pro), video editing (iMovie, Final Cut Studio), and enhanced Podcast creation (GarageBand, ProfCast).

iPod 5G (with Video) 30 GB

There are 10 iPods for checkout by students, staff & faculty. These iPods are primary used for campus, library and MMC walking tours, but could be checked out with use with the MicroMemo for audio recording of lectures, interviews, etc.

Portable Hard Disks

There are multiple 20-80 GB portable hard disks that could be used for storage of media files that will be used in a podcast or other purpose. The drives can be connected to a computer using the FireWire or USB port.

Podcast Producer

We will be developing support for automating recording, encoding and distribution of podcasts from classrooms at the Marriott Library.

Podcast Producer simplifies the process of recording content, encoding, and publishing podcasts for playback in iTunes and on iPod, iPhone, or whatever you like.

SMART Board

We will have a SMART Board that could be integrated into classroom lectures and podcasts.

The SMART board is an interactive whiteboard. You can control computer applications directly from the display, write notes in digital ink and save your work to share later.
